Yoga Watch — At-home practice concept
Exploring an Apple Watch companion for configuring Down Dog sessions and controlling practice without returning to the phone.

Overview
A personal Apple Watch concept designed to accompany the Down Dog iOS app.
Role and ownership
Independent UI and motion-design exploration.
Team and collaborators
Independent project.
Timeline and product stage
Concept documented in 2021.
Primary constraint
Translate session setup and in-practice controls into a compact, glanceable watch experience.
During the pandemic, I practiced yoga at home more often than in a studio and used Down Dog to support regular, safe practice between classes. The concept explores how the watch could reduce interruptions once a session begins.
This personal project does not represent the official views of Down Dog.
Process
Two moments in the practice
Before practice
The watch lets the user choose the session duration and practice type. Early sketches explored a circular duration control, practice cards, and a direct path into the session.

During practice
The in-session interface keeps the current pose, elapsed and total time, and playback controls visible together. Users can pause, move backward or forward, inspect a pose, and save it as a favorite without returning to the phone.

Result
Visual and motion direction
The interface uses a dark watch-native surface, blue progress and action states, illustrated poses, and a circular progress model. Motion is used to communicate selection and playback while keeping the primary controls stable.
Learnings
The concept focuses on reducing interaction cost at two moments: configuring a session before movement starts and controlling it without breaking concentration. It remains a personal concept; no usability or business outcome was documented.
